Gnarls Barkley The Odd Couple

Gnarls Barkley Muisc Collection. After their amazing St. Elsewhere back in 06, Gnarls Barkley came back with an AMAZING album that consolidates them within a space where Cee-Lo's soulful voice blends in perfectly with the loops and beats of DJ Danger Mouse.

Demanding fans who learned to love the unbelievable work in songs such as the now-classic "Crazy" will not be disappointed: the appropriately titled "The Odd Couple" has a slight emphasis on the power of Cee Lo's vocal floating in a space full of 60's nostalgia with the unmistakable touch of Danger Mouse's work crafting the perfect balance with a sound that has earned them a permanent spot among the most creative acts around these days.

This album is my first choice to the list of Best Music of 2008.

Product Description
Following the worldwide, unparalleled critical acclaim for 2006's St. Elsewhere and their record breaking hit "Crazy," Gnarls Barkley is set to release their sophomore album this April. Titled, The Odd Couple, the album features 13 tracks of new material from Danger Mouse and Cee-Lo Green. The first single, "Run" has been met with rave reviews, and The Odd Couple is without question one of the most anticipated releases of 2008.

Gnarls Barkley intimate London gig

Gnarls Barkley Muisc Collection. Gnarls Barkley will follow the March 31st release of their highly anticipated second album 'The Odd Couple’ with the sudden announcement of a very intimate gig at rising London venue 229 on April 3rd.

Having previously played venues such as Brixton Academy and Hammersmith Apollo, the show at the 600-capacity 229 on Great Portland Street will be the most personal gig that Cee-Lo and Danger Mouse have played on these shores.

Likely to sell-out with near immediacy, any remaining tickets for the show are on sale at a price of £19.50.

Available now as a digital download release and already heralded as a huge progression from the 'St. Elsewhere’ debut, 'The Odd Couple’ takes the playful creativity that distinguished the duo’s debut 'St. Elsewhere’ and expands the energy, the soul and the psychological complexity. The album showcases thirteen songs that advance Gnarls Barkley’s vital, unpredictable mission. 'Who’s Gonna Save My Soul’ mixes melancholy Motown balladry and parched Delta blues, 'Surprise’ juxtaposes its introspective lyrics with sunny backing vocals and insistent spy jazz, while 'A Little Better’ closes the set with an uplifting expression of gratitude.

An exhilarating first taste of the new album, the single 'Run’ is already available as a digital download. It finds Gnarls Barkley in peak form, combining an energetic and innovative Danger Mouse production with Cee-Lo’s ardent gospel vocals to create another single-of-the-year contender.

Certified Platinum on both sides of the Atlantic, 'St. Elsewhere’ won two Grammy Awards including Best Alternative Music Album and Best Urban Alternative Song. The phenomenal single 'Crazy’ became the first single to top the singles chart on download sales alone and went on to remain at #1 for nine weeks.

Gnarls Barkley video deemed too dangerous for MTV

The video for Gnarls Barkley's new single, 'Run', has been pulled from its MTV rotation slot over fears that the strobe lightning could indice epileptic fits.

Video of the day: Cassius by Foals

The video, which features a cameo appearance Justin Timberlake, fell foul of TV guidelines on the matter.

The video for 'Run' is set in the early 90s and sees Timberlake play the host of a fictional TV show.
